In the beginning, there was only a knight, a huge ugly dragon and a cliff in my composition. At this stage, I was thinking the hero must have been on a quest which he was failing. In this more humorous first version I thought, maybe his goal might have been to get the dragon’s eggs but I instantly abandoned this idea. A dragon would have chosen a better place to keep her eggs than on a cliff. Then I started thinking that it’s well known that dragons are obsessed with their treasures and so I thought maybe the hero was after the dragon’s treasure. But then wouldn’t a cave is a better place to keep treasure than on a cliff? My ideas were not as original as I wanted.
