RenderMan is celebrating its 20th birthday.
Pixar Animation's rendering software first was published two decades ago, and since then it has helped usher in the era of computer graphics in filmmaking.
The core technology that led to RenderMan was created by Pixar co-founder and president Ed Catmull, co-founder and chief scientist Loren Carpenter and vp software engineering Rob Cook. LINK:
